Ant-Man - Quantum Suit

Figure ID

sh563

Theme

Marvel Super Heroes

Year Released

2019

Rarity

Uncommon. This specific version was exclusive to the LEGO Avengers War Machine Buster set. While not rare in the sense of a convention exclusive, it is the only way to get Scott Lang in the team Quantum Suit outfit.

Head

Dual-sided head featuring Scott Lang's face: one side with a confident smirk and the other with a worried/grimacing expression. It includes a pearl dark gray Ant-Man helmet with transparent red eyes.

Torso

Black Quantum Suit torso with detailed silver, red, and white printing. It features the 'A' Avengers logo on the left chest. The printing depicts the specialized plating and tech panels seen in the film. The arms feature matching red and silver printing.

Legs

Plain black legs without printing. This is a common point of criticism from fans, as the onscreen suit had detailed leg armor.

Accessories

The figure originally comes with the signature Ant-Man helmet (pearl dark gray) and a separate hair piece for Scott Lang. No hand-held weapons are included as his 'weapons' are built into his suit and size-changing abilities.

Color Scheme

Primary colors are black, silver/light bluish gray, and red. This palette follows the uniform 'Quantum Suit' aesthetic used by all Avengers in the 2019 wave.

Printing Details

High-quality pad printing on the torso (front and back) and arms. The silver ink has a slightly metallic sheen. The head features high-fidelity character likeness printing for Paul Rudd.

Variants

Other Quantum Suit variants exist for Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, Black Widow, Nebula, and Hawkeye. There is also a micro-figure version of Ant-Man from the same era.

Condition Notes

The silver printing on the torso can be prone to 'silver rub' or scratching if played with heavily. The neck area of the torso often shows stress marks if the head is tight.

Estimated Value

Used: $8 - $12 USD. New (pulled from set): $15 - $18 USD. Prices are stable due to the popularity of the character despite the suit being specific to one movie.

Price (New)

Released in set 76124 (War Machine Buster) which retailed for $34.99 USD. The figure's value represents about 25-30% of the set's current secondary market value.

Compatible Sets

76124 War Machine Buster (2019).

Character Background

Scott Lang, the second MCU Ant-Man, wears this suit to travel through the Quantum Realm in Avengers: Endgame to retrieve Infinity Stones from the past.

Design Notes

LEGO designers opted for a unified 'team look' for this wave, making the torsos identical across several figures (except for some arm printing variations) to mimic the movie's uniforms.

Similar Minifigures

sh511 (Ant-Man with wing printing), sh201 (Original Movie Ant-Man), sh638 (Quantum Suit Iron Man).

Collectibility

High for MCU completionists. While the legs are plain, the exclusive arm printing and the iconic nature of the 'Endgame' lineup make it a staple for Marvel collectors.

History

This figure marked a departure from the unique character-specific suits LEGO usually produces, moving toward the 'team uniform' concept which was controversial among fans but accurate to the film's second act.

Interesting Facts

Despite being an Ant-Man figure, this version is often sought after simply for the printed arms, which customizers use to 'upgrade' other figures in the Quantum Suit lineup that lacked arm printing.

Display Suggestions

Display alongside the other 5 'Quantum Suit' Avengers or inside a custom-built 'Quantum Tunnel' MOC. Use a transparent stand to simulate him shrinking or growing.

Modification Potential

Excellent. Many collectors swap the legs for printed silver/black legs from other themes to 'finish' the look. The torso and arms are popular for custom superhero MOCs.

Overall Assessment

A solid 7/10. Points deducted for the lack of leg printing, but the torso and arm detail is exceptional and the Paul Rudd head-sculpt is highly accurate.
