Character Background
Peter Quill, also known as Star-Lord, is the leader of the Guardians of the Galaxy. A half-human celestial who was abducted from Earth in 1988 by the Ravagers.
Design Notes
This was the first 'unmasked' version of the character. The hairpiece used (part 15500) was relatively new at the time and captured Chris Pratt's likeness well for the era.
Similar Minifigures
sh384 (Vol. 2 Star-Lord), sh503 (Infinity War Star-Lord), sh122 (Masked Vol. 1 Star-Lord).
Collectibility
Moderate. While iconic, there are many Star-Lord versions. This 'original movie' version remains a staple for MCU completists.
History
Debuted in the summer of 2014. It represents the shift in LEGO's Marvel line towards more film-accurate representations versus comic-book inspirations.
Interesting Facts
The face print for this figure was later frequently reused for other 'handsome hero' characters in the LEGO City and Jurassic World lines (Owen Grady).
Display Suggestions
Display alongside the original 2014 Guardians crew (Gamora, Drax, Rocket, and Groot) or inside the cockpit of the blue and orange Milano (76021).
Modification Potential
Excellent for custom MCU civilian outfits. The torso is a popular choice for 'red leather jacket' characters from other media like Once Upon a Time or Akira.
Overall Assessment
A solid, essential figure for Marvel collectors. While simple by modern standards (lacking leg printing), the torso and head combo are instantly recognizable and high quality.
