Figure ID
njo041
Theme
Ninjago
Year Released
2012 (First edition/White version)
Rarity
Rare. This is the only physical LEGO representation of the character's original white appearance from the first season, exclusively found in one large set.
Head
Unique molded white snake head with an elongated curved neck. Features purple tribal printing, red eyes, and a light blue jewel on the forehead. The neck tapers down to fit a standard torso neck post.
Torso
White torso with ornate purple and gold printing representing Serpentine robes/armor. Back printing continues the pattern. Arms are white with purple hands to represent scales/gloves.
Legs
Black snake tail piece (large curved mold) instead of standard legs. Features gold and purple printing on the front to match the torso design.
Accessories
Gold 'Fangblade' accessory (specifically the blue-jeweled version in lore, though the figure is often paired with a gold scimitar or staff in sets). The current image shows him holding a gold jagged blade piece.
Color Scheme
Primary white body with purple, gold, and black accents. Features a light blue gem print on the forehead.
Printing Details
Highly detailed pad printing on the molded head, torso, and the front of the curved tail piece. Print quality is high, specifically the intricate tribal purple markings that define the Anacondrai tribe identity.
Variants
Two main variants exist: this white version (njo041) and a later 'ghost' purple version (njo131) released in 2015. A tournament version (njo146) also exists.
Condition Notes
The elongated neck piece is prone to 'clutch' issues over time at the torso connection. Check for paint rubbing on the purple tribal markings on the head/snout. The tail piece can develop surface scratches on the bottom from play.
Estimated Value
Used: $50 - $75 USD; New/Mint: $100+ USD. Prices vary based on the presence of the tail printing and accessory.
Price (New)
Originally available in set 9449 Ultra Sonic Raider ($79.99 USD in 2012), making it a high-tier figure for the time.
Compatible Sets
Set 9449: Ultra Sonic Raider (2012).
Character Background
Pythor is the last remaining member of the Anacondrai, the most dangerous of the five Serpentine tribes. He served as the primary antagonist of Season 1, releasing the Great Devourer.
Design Notes
LEGO created a brand new mold for the head/neck to accommodate the Serpentine's tall appearance in the show. This was a significant departure from standard minifigure proportions.
Similar Minifigures
Skales (Hypnobrai), Fangtom (Fangpyre), and Skalidor (Constrictai). All feature unique snake-head molds from the same 2012 wave.
Collectibility
Extremely high. He is a fan-favorite villain from the 'Gold Age' of Ninjago. As the only minifigure for the original Anacondrai leader, demand remains constant.
History
Released during the height of Ninjago's initial surge. This specific version represents Pythor before he was 'bleached' purple by the Great Devourer's stomach acids in the show's lore.
Interesting Facts
Despite being white in the set, the character is often associated with the color purple. The tail piece is one of the most distinct 'lower body' molds LEGO produced in that era.
Display Suggestions
Best displayed in a vertical case due to the height of the neck. Looks excellent alongside the four Fangblades or other Serpentine generals.
Modification Potential
The neck/head piece is frequently used by MOC-builders to create custom nagas or mythological creatures. Limited purist modification due to the unique mold.
Overall Assessment
A masterpiece of the Ninjago line. Its unique silhouette and status as a main series villain make it a cornerstone for any serious LEGO collector. Quality: 9/10.
