sw0113 · Star Wars
Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back · 2004

Figure ID
sw0113
Theme
Star Wars
Year Released
2004
Rarity
Uncommon to Rare. This specific version was only available in two sets from the mid-2000s before Leia was redesigned with more detailed printing and flesh-toned skin.
Head
Yellow classic minifigure head with light purple/pink lipstick and eyelashes. Features the iconic 'princess buns' hairpiece in dark brown (part 4530).
Torso
Tan torso with Hoth-style quilted jacket pattern, white undershirt, and a small black/silver rank badge on the left side of the chest. Back is unprinted.
Legs
Plain black legs (unprinted). Matches the film's lower-half attire from the Hoth base scenes.
Accessories
None visible in the image, but originally came with a small black megaphone piece with a trans-red stud representing a blaster or communicator in its associated sets.
Color Scheme
A palette of Tan, Yellow, White, and Black. This reflects the transition period of LEGO Star Wars before the switch to realistic 'Light Flesh' skin tones in late 2004.
Printing Details
Simple, clean pad printing typical of the early 2000s. The quilted vest lines are crisp. No leg or arm printing, and the head is single-sided.
Variants
Variants include the original 1999 version (sw0021) with a different hair/crown combo, and later 'Light Flesh' versions starting in 2011 with much higher detail.
Condition Notes
Prone to 'torso cracks' on the sides under the arms. The dark brown hairpiece can occasionally show white stress marks if pried off aggressively. Yellowing is a risk for the tan torso.
Estimated Value
$10 - $25 USD depending on condition. A mint condition sw0113 can occasionally fetch more if the hairpiece is scratch-free.
Price (New)
$20 - $30 context (retail weight of the sets it came in). It was not available as a standalone figure.
Compatible Sets
Set 4504: Millennium Falcon (2004 Blue Box edition) and Set 10131: TIE Collection (2004).
Character Background
Princess Leia Organa in her cold-weather gear worn at Echo Base on the planet Hoth during the opening act of The Empire Strikes Back.
Design Notes
This is one of the last Leia figures produced with yellow skin. The hairpiece mold used here became the standard for Leia for nearly a decade.
Similar Minifigures
sw0021 (1999 Leia), sw0349 (2011 Hoth Leia), sw0235 (Endor Leia with similar bun hair).
Collectibility
High for 'completionist' Star Wars fans or lovers of the 'Classic Yellow' era. It represents a specific nostalgic window in LEGO history.
History
Launched during the 2004 refresh of the Star Wars line, which included the 'Original Trilogy Edition' (OTE) branding used to celebrate the DVD release of the films.
Interesting Facts
The tan torso on this figure is actually a very light shade that often looks different under various lighting, sometimes appearing almost white or dark cream.
Display Suggestions
Ideal for a Hoth-themed vignette next to a 2004-era Han Solo or Chewbacca. Fits perfectly in a 4504 Millennium Falcon cockpit.
Modification Potential
The hairpiece is highly versatile for custom figures of historical characters or other versions of Leia. The torso can be used for custom civilian or rebel pilot MOCs.
Overall Assessment
A charming, nostalgic figure that bridge the gap between 'Classic LEGO' and 'Modern Licensed' styles. A solid B-tier collectible.
