Character Background
Formerly known as Chris Bradford, a martial arts expert and Shredder's henchman, he was mutated into a large Akita-humanoid hybrid (Dogpound) before later mutating again into Rahzar.
Design Notes
Features a unique head mold that is significantly larger than standard minifigure heads to capture the bulky scale of the character from the 2012 animated series.
Similar Minifigures
Rahzar (tnt022), Fishface (tnt006), and various Foot Soldiers from the same theme.
Collectibility
Moderate. Desirable for TMNT completionists, though he was eventually replaced by his second mutation (Rahzar) in the TV show and LEGO line.
History
Part of LEGO's expansion into Nickelodeon licenses following the success of SpongeBob. This figure represents the early antagonist phase of the 2012 series.
Interesting Facts
Despite being a 'minifigure,' Dogpound's head is technically a large specially molded piece that does not allow for hair or hats, and he is taller than standard figures when his legs are attached.
Display Suggestions
Display alongside the 2012 version of Shredder and the four Turtles. Use a clear 2x2 brick stand to allow him to tower over smaller figures.
Modification Potential
Excellent for post-apocalyptic or fantasy creature MOCs due to the detailed tattered printing and monstrous head shape.
Overall Assessment
A well-detailed licensed figure that accurately captures the 2012 show's art style. Its value is currently hindered by its incomplete state in the image provided.
