Ultron Sentry Officer

Figure ID

sh167

Theme

Marvel Super Heroes

Year Released

2015 - Debuted in Set 76032 The Avengers Quinjet City Chase

Rarity

Uncommon. While not a limited edition, it was exclusive to one of the more expensive sets in the 2015 Marvel wave, making it harder to find than the standard Sentry troop builders.

Head

Pearl Dark Gray with light blue 'eyes' and glowing jaw print. Features mechanical circuit details on the forehead and sides. This specific print with the blue jaw highlights is unique to the Officer version.

Torso

Pearl Dark Gray with intricate mechanical panel printing. Features light blue power core details on the chest. Back printing includes similar mechanical circuitry. Arms are Pearl Dark Gray and hands are Flat Silver.

Legs

Pearl Dark Gray with mechanical armor plating and circuit printing that continues from the torso. The printing covers the front of the hips and legs. No side printing present.

Accessories

None pictured. Originally included 2 translucent light blue 'Power Blast' elements representing energy beams or flight propulsion.

Color Scheme

Primarily Pearl Dark Gray and Flat Silver with Trans-Light Blue accents representing the Ultron hive-mind energy.

Printing Details

High-quality pad printing on the head, torso, and legs. The alignment is centered to create a seamless flow of mechanical 'wiring' from the chest down to the toes. Metallic ink is used for the silver mechanical highlights.

Variants

Three main variants exist from the 2015 wave: standard Ultron Sentry (sh166) with a basic head, this Ultron Sentry Officer (sh167), and the Ultron Prime (sh175) or Ultimate Ultron (sh176) versions.

Condition Notes

The Pearl Dark Gray plastic is prone to visible scratches and 'swirl' marks in the mold. Check for silver paint wear on the tips of the feet and torso edges. Neck friction should be tight.

Estimated Value

Used: $4.00 - $7.00. New/Polished: $9.00 - $12.00. Value has remained relatively stable as it is an army-builder figure.

Price (New)

Original set 76032 retail price was $79.99 USD in 2015.

Compatible Sets

76032 The Avengers Quinjet City Chase (2015).

Character Background

The Sentry drones were part of the Ultron Sentinels army created by Ultron in the film 'Avengers: Age of Ultron' to overwhelm the Avengers through sheer numbers. The 'Officer' designates a unit with slightly higher tactical control within the hive mind.

Design Notes

This figure utilized the then-new Pearl Dark Gray color to simulate the vibranium-infused metal of Ultron's army. It was a significant upgrade from the basic gray 'aliens' of previous Marvel waves.

Similar Minifigures

Ultron Sentry (sh166), Ultron Prime (sh175), Iron Legion (sh168), and various Iron Man armors (Mark 43/45) from the same era.

Collectibility

Medium. Desirable for Marvel collectors looking to recreate the 'Battle of Sokovia' scenes. Army builders often buy 10-20 of these, keeping the market demand steady.

History

First introduced during the May 2015 launch of the Age of Ultron sets. It marked a peak in LEGO's use of intricate mechanical printing for licensed theme 'grunts' or foot soldiers.

Interesting Facts

The blue highlights on the head are meant to differentiate the Officer from the standard Sentries that have simpler, less 'energized' face prints. This was one of the first figures to showcase the 'trans-light blue' power effects.

Display Suggestions

Best displayed in a group of 3-5 Sentries surrounding an Ultron Prime figure, or being 'smashed' by a Hulk buster or Hulk figure. Use clear flight stands to hover them.

Modification Potential

Excellent for sci-fi or cyberpunk MOCs. The Pearl Dark Gray components are popular for custom robot warriors or Borg-like characters in Star Wars dioramas.

Overall Assessment

A solid 7/10. It is a highly detailed, screen-accurate representation of the movie drones. Standout features are the seamless printing across three body segments and the excellent metallic color choice.
