Quarrie

Figure ID

sw0889

Theme

Star Wars

Year Released

2018 (included in set 75220 Sandcrawler)

Rarity

Uncommon to Rare. While the character appeared in a retail set, Quarrrie is exclusive to that single set which had a relatively short shelf life, making him harder to find than standard Rebel figures.

Head

Light Flesh with Mon Calamari alien features. Features salmon/orange spots on top and back, large black eyes, and a printed brown 'jaw pouch' or neck fold common to the Mon Calamari species. It is a dual-sided head with different expressions.

Torso

Olive Green jumpsuit design. Features printed brown shoulder straps, silver buckles, a white rectangular life-support panel, and a belt. Arms are Dark Gray; hands are Light Flesh. Back printing includes the Continuation of the belt and jumpsuit seams.

Legs

Olive Green with printed detailing. Features dark tan crease marks and white hexagonal/polygonal knee pads that match the flight suit aesthetic.

Accessories

None pictured. Originally came with a small wrench tool (part 11402e) in the official set. He wears an Olive Green pilot helmet with white and orange rebel markings (part 2446pb44).

Color Scheme

Primary: Olive Green and Dark Gray. Accents: Light Flesh, Orange, and White. This earth-toned palette reflects his role as an engineer and mechanic in the Star Wars universe.

Printing Details

High-quality pad printing on head, torso (front and back), and the front of the legs. The helmet uses complex wrap-around printing for the Rebel insignias. Detail level is representative of the high-clarity 2018 era.

Variants

None. This is the only version of Quarrie produced by LEGO to date.

Condition Notes

The Olive Green plastic is durable, but look for wear on the silver helmet vents and the white knee pad prints. Neck cracks in the torso and silvering on the head peg are common points of failure for figures of this era.

Estimated Value

Used Complete: $20.00 - $30.00 USD. New/Mint: $35.00+ USD. Prices have trended upward as Star Wars Rebels sets become more collectible.

Price (New)

Included in set 75220 Sandcrawler which retailed for $139.99 USD. Quarrie was one of several exclusive minifigures in that set.

Compatible Sets

75220 Sandcrawler (2018).

Character Background

Quarrie is a Mon Calamari starship engineer who appeared in Star Wars Rebels. He is the master designer of the B-wing starfighter prototype (the Blade of Dorne) and lived on the planet Shantipole.

Design Notes

Notable for being a rare 'aged' Mon Calamari design compared to Admiral Ackbar. The use of Olive Green for a Rebel pilot suit is a unique departure from the standard orange X-Wing jumpsuits.

Similar Minifigures

Admiral Ackbar (sw0719), Mon Calamari Officer (sw0248), Ten Numb (sw0556), and other Star Wars Rebels characters like Hera Syndulla.

Collectibility

High. Exclusive to a single, retired, high-price-point set. Rebels-themed minifigures have seen a significant surge in demand due to the 'Ahsoka' series and Disney+ content.

History

Released during the twilight of the Star Wars Rebels line, capturing a niche fan-favorite character. This figure represents the transition into more detailed alien head prints for humanoid-adjacent species.

Interesting Facts

The character was named 'Quarrie' as a tribute to legendary Star Wars concept artist Ralph McQuarrie. This minifigure is his only brick-built appearance.

Display Suggestions

Ideal for display next to a B-Wing Starfighter or within a hangar bay MOC. Pair with Hera Syndulla or other members of the Ghost crew.

Modification Potential

The Olive Green torso and legs are excellent for custom Rebel ground crew or Resistance mechanics. The head and helmet are highly specialized and less versatile for MOCs.

Overall Assessment

A top-tier niche character for Star Wars collectors. Excellent print quality and a wonderful tribute to Ralph McQuarrie. It is a 'buy' for those looking to complete their Rebels roster before prices rise further.
