Finn - Dark Tan Jacket

Figure ID

Theme

Star Wars

Year Released

2017 - Debuted in set 75178 (Jakku Quadjumper) and later appeared in 75201 (First Order AT-ST) in 2018.

Rarity

Uncommon. While available in two sets, one was a retail failure (75201) and the other was retired relatively quickly. It is specific to the Episode VIII wave.

Head

Medium Flesh skin tone, dual-sided printing with a determined/angry expression on one side and a neutral/concerned look on the other. Features short, black textured hair (molded part 24791).

Torso

Dark Tan jacket over a tan shirt. The jacket features distinct orange and blue badge detailing on the left chest. Includes a brown bandolier print that continues from front to back. Tan arms with reddish-brown hands.

Legs

Dark Blue legs with detailed printing of a brown belt, a holstered blaster strap on the right thigh, and pocket detailing. The hip piece is dark blue.

Accessories

Typically comes with a medium-sized black blaster. The figure in the image is holding a custom-modified blaster using a black blaster body and a light bluish-gray technical pin/nozzle on the end.

Color Scheme

Primary colors include Dark Tan, Dark Blue, and Medium Flesh. Accent colors are Orange, Blue, and Reddish Brown signifying Resistance attire.

Printing Details

High-quality pad printing. Notable for the alignment between the torso bandolier and the leg belt/holster. Back printing includes the back of the jacket and the continuation of the bandolier strap.

Variants

This is the version from 'The Last Jedi'. Other variants include the FN-2187 stormtrooper (sw0671), the original Jakku version (sw0676), and the Bacta Suit version (sw0900).

Condition Notes

Prone to hairline cracks on the sides of the torso (under the arms) and stress marks on the hands. Check for silvering or fading on the orange/blue jacket badge.

Estimated Value

Used: $5 - $8 USD | New/Mint: $10 - $15 USD. The value is relatively stable as Finn is a main character but this specific version is not the most iconic.

Price (New)

Retail sets ranged from $49.99 (Quadjumper) to $39.99 (AT-ST). Not sold individually; original blind-bag CMFs were $3.99, making this a mid-tier set inclusion.

Compatible Sets

75178 Jakku Quadjumper (2017), 75201 First Order AT-ST (2018), and several Star Wars 'Super Packs'.

Character Background

Finn (formerly FN-2187) is a stormtrooper defector turned Resistance hero. This outfit represents his look during the mission to Canto Bight and the infiltration of the Supremacy in 'The Last Jedi'.

Design Notes

Uses a newer textured hair mold introduced around 2016. High accuracy to the costume designed by Michael Kaplan for the film, specifically the salvaged nature of his Resistance clothing.

Similar Minifigures

Poe Dameron (sw0861), Rose Tico (sw0857), and the Episode IX version of Finn (sw1056).

Collectibility

Moderate. Vital for completing the main cast of the Sequel Trilogy, but over-saturation of Finn figures during 2015-2019 keeps prices affordable for now.

History

Represents the middle stage of Finn's journey. It saw a transition from his 'Force Awakens' jacket (Poe's jacket) to his more standardized Resistance officer look in 'Rise of Skywalker'.

Interesting Facts

The AT-ST set this figure appeared in (75201) is often cited by fans as one of the 'worst' Star Wars sets due to it being an unfinished 'headless' walker, which makes this figure the primary reason fans bought that set.

Display Suggestions

Display alongside Rose Tico and BB-8 to recreate the Canto Bight scenes, or in a Resistance hangar vignette with a ski speeder.

Modification Potential

The dark blue legs are highly useful for custom Resistance troopers or modern-day civilian MOCs. The head is a standard representation for John Boyega and can be used for custom 'Attack the Block' figures.

Overall Assessment

A solid, well-printed minifigure that accurately captures the character. While not the most valuable Star Wars figure, it is a high-quality representation essential for Sequel Trilogy collectors.
