Theme

Marvel Super Heroes

Year Released

2018; released as part of the Avengers: Infinity War wave which updated the design of the standard Outrider from previous MCU appearances.

Rarity

Common; this figure was mass-produced across four different sets in the initial Infinity War wave, making it very easy for collectors to acquire in bulk.

Head

Gold-colored head piece with black and silver printed detailing representing redundant eyes and a jagged mandible mouth. No hair or headgear; the head has no dual-printing.

Torso

Light Bluish Gray torso with detailed gold, black, and dark gray printing that represents bio-mechanical armor and muscular structure. It features purple hands to signify the creature's skin color.

Legs

Light Bluish Gray legs with dark gray and gold printing on the front of the hips and legs, continuing the armor plating aesthetic from the torso.

Accessories

This figure is missing its primary accessory: a black neck bracket piece (92589) with four additional arms (representing the six-limbed nature of the MCU Outrider). In its current state, it is incomplete.

Color Scheme

A mix of Light Bluish Gray, Metallic Gold, and Dark Purple. The purple hands are the signature accent representing the alien race's flesh.

Printing Details

High-quality pad printing on the head, torso (front and back), and the front of the legs. The gold is metallic and holds up well against light, though alignment on the hip joints can occasionally vary.

Variants

There are two main 'Outrider' types (sh505 and sh561). This version (sh505) features the Light Bluish Gray armor. A black-armored version exists in the later Endgame sets.

Condition Notes

The gold printing on the head is prone to rubbing off if handled frequently. Check for 'arm cracks' on the gray torso and ensure the purple hands are not bitten or chewed, as these are common play-wear issues.

Estimated Value

Used (Incomplete as shown): $1.00 - $1.50 USD; Used (Complete with extra arms): $2.00 - $3.00 USD; New: $4.00 USD.

Price (New)

N/A - This was never sold individually. The sets it appeared in ranged from $14.99 (Outrider Dropship Attack) to $99.99 (Sanctum Sanctorum Showdown).

Compatible Sets

76101 Outrider Dropship Attack, 76103 Corvus Glaive Thresher Attack, 76104 The Hulkbuster Smash-Up, 76108 Sanctum Sanctorum Showdown.

Character Background

Outriders are genetically engineered humanoid parasites used as disposable shock troops by Thanos and the Black Order. They first appeared in the MCU during the Siege of Wakanda in Infinity War.

Design Notes

The figure uses a standard minifigure mold but relies on a back-attachment piece to achieve its canonical six-armed look. The use of purple hands is a clever nod to their appearance in the comics and film.

Similar Minifigures

Outrider - Black Armor (sh561), Sakaaran Warrior (sh120), Chitauri Warrior (sh040).

Collectibility

Low to Moderate; while easy to find, they are popular for 'army building' (buying dozens to recreate the Battle of Wakanda), which keeps them in steady demand.

History

Initially introduced for the Infinity War line in 2018. The figure was later slightly redesigned for the Endgame line in 2019 with a darker color palette (Black instead of Gray).

Interesting Facts

The 'sh505' Outrider is one of the few Marvel army-builders to appear in as many as four sets in a single release wave.

Display Suggestions

Best displayed in large groups ('mobs') on a tan or green baseplate to simulate the Wakandan battlefield, preferably facing off against Captain America or Black Panther.

Modification Potential

Excellent for MOCs. The heads are often used for custom robotic or alien creatures, and the purple hands are useful for custom figures like the Joker or various wizards.

Overall Assessment

A solid, detailed army-builder figure. While this specific unit is missing its extra limbs, it remains a staple of the MCU LEGO collection. Quality is 8/10 for printing, though desirability is limited by its high availability.
