Character Background
Teedo is a Jakku scavenger of the same species name. In The Force Awakens, he is seen capturing BB-8 with a net before Rey intervenes and demands the droid's release.
Design Notes
Teedo represents an excellent example of LEGO's dedication to unique alien molds during the Disney era. The head mold capture's the character's distinct organic mechanical look without being a full 'helmet' piece.
Similar Minifigures
Unkar's Thugs, Rey (Jakku), and other scavenger types like the Jawas or Tusken Raiders.
Collectibility
Moderate. Highly desired by fans completionist Star Wars collectors, particularly those building Jakku-themed dioramas or 'The Force Awakens' collections.
History
First and only appearance in the 2016 summer wave. It marked the expansion of the Jakku marketplace scene beyond the initial 2015 Millennium Falcon release.
Interesting Facts
In the film, Teedo rides a semi-mechanical creature called a Luggabeast, which LEGO included in the set as the figure\'s primary 'accessory' and transport.
Display Suggestions
Display on a tan baseplate alongside Rey and a brick-built Luggabeast. Use warm, desert-toned lighting to highlight the Medium Nougat and Olive Green tones.
Modification Potential
The head is a very specific part; however, the torso and legs are excellent for 'Apocalypseburg' or generic wasteland/Post-Apocalyptic MOCs.
Overall Assessment
An excellently designed figure with a unique mold that remains highly accurate to the source material. A must-have for Star Wars: Episode VII fans.
