Figure ID
sw0275
Theme
Star Wars
Year Released
2010 (Toy Fair and Polybag release)
Rarity
Very Rare. This figure was never released in a standard retail set; it was distributed at the 2010 Toy Fair and later as a promotional polybag for the 30th anniversary of The Empire Strikes Back.
Head
The head is a standard black blank head piece, utilized to create the 'shadow' effect behind the visor of the helmet. No facial printing is present.
Torso
White torso with light bluish gray and silver printing depicting the Mandalorian 'Prototype' armor plates. Includes a rocket-pack connector design on the back. Arms and hands are solid white.
Legs
Solid white legs and hips with no printing. The clean white look mimics the original Ralph McQuarrie concept and the 1978 screen-test suit.
Accessories
Includes a white Mandalorian helmet with a unique T-visor print and a matching white jetpack (Part 47166). Some polybags included a standard black blaster or a transparent neck-bracket cape, but the jetpack is the core accessory.
Color Scheme
Monochromatic white with accents of light bluish gray, black (visor), and metallic silver (armor detailing).
Printing Details
High-quality pad printing on the helmet and torso. The helmet features a fine black line for the visor and two small kill-stripes. The torso print is crisp and mimics the classic 2010 Boba Fett pattern.
Variants
There are no major manufacturing variants, but the figure is often confused with the 2015 'Prototype Boba Fett' (sw0631) which features significantly more detail and leg printing.
Condition Notes
Since the figure is all white, yellowing (UV damage) is a major concern. Check for stress marks on the torso sides (cracks) and the neck post. The helmet's visor print can be prone to scratching.
Estimated Value
New (Sealed Polybag): $200 - $300 USD; Used Complete: $100 - $150 USD. Prices fluctuate based on the white plastic's whiteness.
Price (New)
Technically $0.00 as it was a 'Gift with Purchase' or promotional item, though it is often linked to the 30th anniversary celebrations of Episode V.
Compatible Sets
2853835 White Boba Fett Polybag (2010). Also appeared as a promotional giveaway at Toy Fair 2010.
Character Background
Based on the original 'Supertrooper' concept for Boba Fett. Before the iconic green-and-red bounty hunter look was finalized, the character was envisioned as an elite white-armored stormtrooper.
Design Notes
This was the first time LEGO officially produced the 'White Boba'. It uses the updated 2010 Mandalorian helmet mold but maintains a retro color palette.
Similar Minifigures
sw0631 (Boba Fett - White, 2015 version with leg printing), sw0002 (Classic Boba Fett), sw0396 (Boba Fett - Civil War/9496).
Collectibility
Extremely high. It is a 'grail' for Star Wars completionists due to its exclusive nature and the historical significance of the Prototype suit design.
History
Debuted at the 2010 International Toy Fair in London and Nuremberg to celebrate the 30th Anniversary of Empire Strikes Back. Its release marked a period where LEGO began embracing expanded universe and concept-art figures.
Interesting Facts
Despite being Boba Fett, the character in this suit was originally intended to be a group of elite soldiers, not a single bounty hunter. The 2010 polybag version is often cited as the catalyst for the modern 'exclusive promotional minifigure' trend.
Display Suggestions
Display in a UV-protected acrylic case to prevent yellowing. It looks best alongside the 2015 version to show the evolution of the concept suit, or with Stormtroopers to show the 'Supertrooper' origin.
Modification Potential
Excellent base for purist 'Concept Art' troopers. The white jetpack is a rare part highly sought after by MOC builders for Arctic or Space themed characters.
Overall Assessment
A top-tier collector's piece. While it lacks the intricate leg printing of the newer version, sw0275 is the 'original' promotional white Fett and holds its value exceptionally well. Rating: 9/10.
