Figure ID

Theme
Super Heroes
Year Released
2012 (First release in set 6862-2)
Rarity
Uncommon. This version was only available in two sets from 2012 and 2013, making it significantly harder to find than the more recent Batman Movie or comic variations.
Head
Medium Flesh with yellow eyes, dark tan stitching, and a black gas mask print. It is single-sided and topped with a specific brown hood piece first introduced in this era.
Torso
Light Flesh arms and torso with tattered brown vest printing. Includes intricate details representing muscles, ragged edges, and a grey noose/rope detail hanging from the neckline.
Legs
Dark Brown legs with hip printing. Features line printing representing boot wraps and a continuation of the tattered garment look. There is no side printing on the legs.
Accessories
Includes dark brown hood (part 30381) and a Flat Silver claw/wolverine-style piece (part 98132) used as his 'fear gas' injector weapon.
Color Scheme
A muted palette of Dark Brown, Medium Flesh, and Light Flesh, designed to replicate the gritty, decayed appearance of the character's Arkham-inspired costume.
Printing Details
High-quality pad printing on the torso (front and back) and head. Notably, this era saw an increase in arm printing for high-end figures, though this specific figure relies on flesh-toned arms/hands to represent bare skin.
Variants
This is the 'Raggedy Outfit' version. It differs from the 2006 classic version (bat016) which had a floppy hat, and the 2017 LEGO Batman Movie versions which featured a 'pizza delivery' outfit or more modern armor.
Condition Notes
Susceptible to cracks on the side of the torso and heels. The Flat Silver accessory can show tooth marks or 'bending' stress if played with roughly. Ensure the dark brown hood hasn't suffered from brittle-brown syndrome.
Estimated Value
Used Complete: $12.00 - $18.00 USD; New/Mint: $22.00 - $30.00 USD. Prices fluctuate based on the secondary market for retired DC Super Heroes sets.
Price (New)
Originally released in set 6862-2 (Superman vs. Power Armor Lex) for $19.99 USD, and set 10937 (Arkham Asylum Breakout) for $159.99 USD.
Compatible Sets
6862-2 Superman vs. Power Armor Lex (2012); 10937 Arkham Asylum Breakout (2013).
Character Background
Dr. Jonathan Crane, also known as Scarecrow, is a DC Comics villain who uses 'Fear Toxin' to induce hallucinations. This design is heavily influenced by his more terrifying, modern comic book and video game appearances.
Design Notes
A drastic departure from the 2006 original. The choice of a hood over a hat and the 'noose' printing gives it a darker, more mature tone compared to earlier LEGO Batman figures.
Similar Minifigures
Scarecrow (bat016), Scarecrow (sh370), and Killer Croc (sh015) from the same era/theme.
Collectibility
High. Since it appeared in the highly acclaimed Arkham Asylum Breakout set and an affordable Lex Luthor set, many collectors consider this the definitive comic-style Scarecrow for their displays.
History
Debuted in 2012 as part of the relaunch of the DC Super Heroes line under the 'Batman II' branding, replacing the older 'Batman' (2006-2008) theme.
Interesting Facts
The claw accessory was originally produced for the Wolverine minifigure in the Marvel line, but repurposing it for Scarecrow's fear toxin hand is considered a brilliant part-usage by fans.
Display Suggestions
Best displayed alongside other Arkham Asylum inmates or in a toxic lab vignette. Use a 1x2 brick with a 1x1 trans-neon green plate to represent a canister of fear gas.
Modification Potential
The head and hood are frequently used by the MOC community to create post-apocalyptic survivors or dark fantasy cultists.
Overall Assessment
9/10 Quality. This minifigure represents a peak in LEGO's transition from 'kiddy' designs to highly detailed, collector-focused character representations. A must-have for any Batman rogue's gallery collection.
