Figure ID
col421 (Series 25, #8)
Theme
Collectible Minifigures
Year Released
2024. Released during a major resurgence in fan-favorite classic Castle factions, responding to adult collector (AFOL) demand for retro themes.
Rarity
Uncommon. As a blind-boxed CMF, it required specific identification (QR code scanning) or luck. While mass-produced, it is highly sought after by army builders, making it harder to find in bulk at retail.
Head
Yellow skin with dual-sided printing. Side one features a rugged, scowling expression with stubble, a jagged scar over the eye, and a snaggletooth. Side two typically features a more neutral/determined look. It is topped with a black hood mold.
Torso
Brown tunic over black chainmail. Features the iconic Wolfpack emblem (white wolf head on a red/black shield) centered on the chest. Silver belt buckle and pouch details. Black arms and brown hands.
Legs
Dark brown legs with belt and tunic fringe printing. No side printing, but maintains consistent color blocking with the torso design.
Accessories
Includes a silver flat silver greatsword, a black tattered fabric cape, a Wolfpack printed shield (red border), and a uniquely molded grey wolf companion (exclusive to this set with distinct eye printing).
Color Scheme
Primary colors are Brown, Black, and Silver, with Red and White accents on the shield/emblem. This mimics the gritty, forest-dwelling aesthetic of the original 1990s Wolfpack faction.
Printing Details
High-density pad printing on the torso and head. The wolf emblem is crisp with perfect alignment. The cape is laser-cut fabric with a 'tattered' look, which is a premium finish for CMFs.
Variants
This is the definitive Series 25 version. It serves as a modern update to the vintage 1992 Wolfpack Renegades (cas001), featuring significantly more detailed printing and a unique wolf mold.
Condition Notes
The fabric cape is susceptible to fraying over time. Check the 'scar' print on the head for scratches. The wolf companion's ears can show minor paint wear if not handled carefully.
Estimated Value
New (in box/bag): $5.00 - $8.00. Used: $4.00 - $6.00. Value is currently stable due to recent release but expected to rise as 'army builders' hoard multiples.
Price (New)
$4.99 retail price (MSRP) for a single blind box/bag in 2024.
Compatible Sets
71045 Collectible Minifigures Series 25. Highly compatible with 10305 Lion Knights' Castle and 10332 Medieval Town Square for diorama building.
Character Background
A modern reimagining of the Wolfpack faction, a group of forest-dwelling outlaws first introduced in the LEGO Castle system in 1992. They are traditionally portrayed as rogues or thieves who oppose the Black Knights.
Design Notes
A 'love letter' to retro fans, using the modern hood mold and a custom-molded wolf that fits on LEGO studs. The snaggletooth and scar add character depth missing from the 90s stickers/prints.
Similar Minifigures
Wolfpack Renegade (cas001), Forestman (Series 24), Black Falcon (10305 version), and Lion Knight (Series 23).
Collectibility
High. Anything related to 'Classic Castle' factions is highly liquid in the secondary market. This figure is specifically prioritized by 'army builders' who buy 10-20 at a time.
History
Follows the success of the Black Falcon and Forestmen re-introductions in recent years. This figure marks the official return of the Wolfpack branding after decades of absence.
Interesting Facts
The inclusion of the wolf companion solved a long-standing fan desire for a 'Wolfpack' figure to actually come with a wolf, which were never included in the original 1992-1993 sets.
Display Suggestions
Display in a forest-themed MOC using darker green and brown foliage. Pairs best with the Medieval Town Square or a custom forest hideout vignette.
Modification Potential
Excellent for 'purist' customs. The head is popular for rugged warriors, and the wolf companion is often swapped into fantasy dioramas or Witcher-inspired MOCs.
Overall Assessment
10/10 for value and nostalgia. It is one of the standout figures of Series 25, offering a high-quality update to a beloved heritage sub-theme at an affordable entry price.
