Goat Herd (Series 25)

Figure ID

col25-10 (col421)

Theme

Collectible Minifigures

Year Released

2024 (January debut; part of the first CMF wave of the year)

Rarity

Uncommon to Rare. While distributed 3 per box of 36, the presence of the goat animal makes it the most 'hunted' figure in the series, often causing it to be sold out.

Head

Double-sided head; one side features a gentle, content smile with blue eyes, and the other features a concentrated or 'shouting' expression (likely calling for goats). Features a tan beard and eyebrows.

Torso

Dark green rustic vest over a white long-sleeved shirt with lace-up detail. Back printing continues the vest stitch pattern and leather texture.

Legs

Dual-molded light brown and dark brown legs representing boots and folded trousers, with front pouch and belt buckle printing.

Accessories

The primary accessory is the white LEGO GOAT with black spots. Also includes a shepherd's crook (staff), a trans-yellow 1x1 round plate representing cheese, and a standard black CMF stand.

Color Scheme

Earth tones including Dark Green, Tan, and Reddish Brown. The goat is White with Dark Stone Grey accents.

Printing Details

High-quality pad printing typical of the CMF line. Features dual-molded legs and detailed torso printing that extends to the neck line.

Variants

No physical variants exist within Series 25, though the figure is a spiritual successor to the 2011 Mill Village Raid peasant.

Condition Notes

Being brand new in blind boxes/boxes, condition is generally mint. Watch for 'heel cracks' on the legs over time due to the dual-molding process.

Estimated Value

Used/Complete: $10.00 - $14.00, New/Sealed in box: $12.00 - $18.00. The value is driven almost entirely by the goat accessory.

Price (New)

$4.99 USD (Retail price per blind box).

Compatible Sets

71045 LEGO Minifigures Series 25.

Character Background

An anonymous rustic goat herder or shepherd, designed to fit into Castle-themed MOCs or rural layouts. Represents the return of the iconic LEGO goat.

Design Notes

The highlight is the return of the goat mold which had been retired since 2011. The QR-style code on the box (as seen in the image) was a new feature for Series 25 to help collectors identify contents.

Similar Minifigures

Mill Village Raid peasant (from set 7189), Sheep Farmer (Series 19), and various Medieval/Castle theme villagers.

Collectibility

Extremely High. It is the 'chase' figure of Series 25 due to the high demand for LEGO farm animals in the Castle community.

History

Follows a long period where the original 2011 goat reached prices of $100+. This 2024 release finally crashed the secondary market for goats.

Interesting Facts

The 'Data Matrix' code (413S6) visible in the photo is specifically used by collectors with scanner apps to confirm the figure is the Goat Herd without opening the box.

Display Suggestions

Ideal for medieval village dioramas, farm layouts, or displayed on the standard black CMF base alongside the Series 24 Shepherd.

Modification Potential

Excellent piece for 'Army Building' medieval peasants. The goat is a universally useful part for any rural LEGO scene.

Overall Assessment

9/10. An essential figure for any collector. The design is solid, but the inclusion of the goat accessory makes it a legendary CMF entry.
