Luke Skywalker (Tatooine, White Robe, Nougat Head, Hair)
sw0717 · Star Wars
Ultimate Collector Series / Episode IV: A New Hope · 2016 (First appearance in UCS Landspeeder context/related sets)

Figure ID
sw0717
Theme
Star Wars
Year Released
2016 (First appearance in UCS Landspeeder context/related sets)
Rarity
Uncommon. While appearing in a few sets, this specific version with detailed leg printing and the modern hair mold is mid-tier rarity compared to basic play-set versions.
Head
Light Nougat, dual-sided with smile/determined expressions, featuring small pupils and detailed lines around eyes. High-volume blonde hairpiece (part 99321).
Torso
White tunic with v-neck crossover print, tan and dark brown belt with silver buckle. Back printing continues the belt and tunic folds. Light nougat hands.
Legs
White legs with white hips. Detailed printing (tan/gold) reflecting the wrapped gaiters or leg wraps worn on Tatooine, extending from mid-thigh to the ankle area.
Accessories
Usually paired with a blue lightsaber (trans-blue blade, silver hilt) and macrobinoculars in sets, though not pictured here.
Color Scheme
Primary: White. Accents: Tan, Dark Brown, Silver, and Blonde. The clean white palette accurately mimics Luke's farmboy appearance in A New Hope.
Printing Details
High-quality pad printing. Notable for the wrap detail on the legs which is far more intricate than the 1999–2010 versions. Alignment is generally centered on the belt line.
Variants
Numerous variants exist: sw0021 (yellow skin), sw0273 (flesh skin, no leg print), sw1086 (similar but with pupils/different pupils), and the 'Medal Ceremony' versions.
Condition Notes
Prone to 'torso cracks' under the arms if played with heavily. White plastic can show dirt or yellowing if exposed to UV light. Check the neck for paint rubbing from the hairpiece.
Estimated Value
Used: $5 - $8 USD; New/Mint: $10 - $15 USD. Value is lower due to high frequency of Luke Skywalker figures across the theme.
Price (New)
N/A (Included in sets ranging from $29.99 to $199.99 retail).
Compatible Sets
75159 Death Star (2016), 75173 Luke's Landspeeder (2017), 75270 Obi-Wan's Hut (2020), 75290 Mos Eisley Cantina (2020).
Character Background
The protagonist of the original Star Wars trilogy. This figure depicts him as he first appears in 'A New Hope' as a farmhand on Tatooine before joining the Rebellion.
Design Notes
Uses the newer hairpiece mold introduced in the 2010s which replaced the classic 'bowl cut' (part 3901). The leg printing was a major upgrade for this version of the 'Farmboy' Luke.
Similar Minifigures
Han Solo (Classic), Obi-Wan Kenobi (Ben), and C-3PO (Protocol Droid).
Collectibility
Moderate. It is the definitive 'standard' modern Luke for many, making it a staple for any Star Wars collection, though market saturation keeps its price low.
History
Launched as part of a move to update core characters with better leg printing and more accurate head molds compared to the 2004-2010 decade of Star Wars figures.
Interesting Facts
Despite being an 'Iconic' figure, for many years LEGO only printed Luke's legs for higher-end sets, frequently leaving the legs plain in cheaper entry-level sets.
Display Suggestions
Display alongside a LEGO X-34 Landspeeder or in a Mos Eisley Cantina scene. Best viewed from the front to show the leg wrap printing.
Modification Potential
Excellent for 'purist' MOCs. The white tunic torso and tan legs are frequently used to create other moisture farmers or generic Jedi trainees.
Overall Assessment
A quintessential LEGO Star Wars figure. It balances screen accuracy with the classic LEGO aesthetic perfectly. High quality but low financial rarity.
