Character Background
Professor Horace Slughorn, the Potions Master and former Head of Slytherin House who returned to Hogwarts to help Harry and Dumbledore.
Design Notes
The specialized hair piece was first introduced in the 2018 Bricktober pack and reused here to perfect his balding look. The olive green vest is a very accurate color match to the film appearance.
Similar Minifigures
Slughorn (hp155 Bricktober), Gilderoy Lockhart (hp359), and Albus Dumbledore (hp211).
Collectibility
High for completionists. He is a primary character in the sixth film and this is currently the only way to get a modern 'standard' version of him.
History
For years, Slughorn was a 'missing' character in the LEGO HP lineup until the 2018 limited pack; this 2020 version made the character accessible to the general public.
Interesting Facts
The hair piece is a specific mold meant to capture Jim Broadbent's specific hairstyle in the films; it is often referred to by fans as the 'Slughorn piece'.
Display Suggestions
Best displayed in a Potions Classroom MOC or alongside the 'Slug Club' students (Harry, Hermione, Ginny, Neville).
Modification Potential
The head and hair are excellent for building custom elderly figures or academic characters for City/Modular layouts.
Overall Assessment
A fantastic, character-accurate figure that holds its value well. A essential addition for any fan of the Hogwarts staff.
