Theme

Pirates of the Caribbean

Year Released

2011 (Released in August with the Black Pearl set)

Rarity

Uncommon/Rare. Exclusive to one specific set that is no longer in production, making him highly sought after by collectors.

Head

Unique sand green head with shell-like growth printing and black eyes. It uses a unique beard mold (6132) in black and a reddish-brown rounded bowl-cut hair piece.

Torso

Dark red torso with detailed printing of a worn pirate coat, sea-worn barnacles, shells, and a rope belt. Back printing continues the weathered coat design.

Legs

Black legs with printing on the front. Features a continuation of the rope belt, a red sash, and barnacle/sea-life detailing to match the torso.

Accessories

In the original set, he comes with a flintlock pistol and a cutlass. The figure in the image is holding a black telescope and a custom/non-standard yellow tool/rod.

Color Scheme

A unique palette of dark red, sand green, black, and reddish brown, accented with tan and white 'sea-growth' prints.

Printing Details

Highly detailed for its era. High-quality pad printing on the head, front/back of the torso, and the front of the legs to capture the character's 'cursed' appearance.

Variants

Only one official variant of this specific character exists.

Condition Notes

Common wear points include the sand green printing on the head rubbing off and stress marks on the torso sides. The beard piece can get dusty easily due to its texture.

Estimated Value

Used complete: $40 - $55 USD; New: $70+ USD (as part of a sealed set). Values have stayed strong due to the licensing lapsing.

Character Background

Hadras is a crew member of the Flying Dutchman under Davy Jones. He is known for having a shell for a head (which falls off in the movie) and being part of the cursed crew.

Design Notes

The figure successfully uses sand green to represent the undead/sea-cursed skin tone. The use of the standard 'beard' piece in black was a clever part reuse to simulate sea-rot.

Similar Minifigures

Maccus (poc007), Jimmy Legs (poc022), and Davy Jones (poc011) from the same theme.

Collectibility

High. LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean sets are retired and highly nostalgic; any named crew member from the Dutchman is a collector's item.

History

Part of the only wave of sets released for the original PotC trilogy, representing the peak of LEGO's movie-license detail in the early 2010s.

Interesting Facts

The character in the movie actually has a conch shell for a head; LEGO represented this with a hairpiece and printing because they didn't want to mold a new specific head for a secondary character.

Display Suggestions

Best displayed on a Flying Dutchman MOC or alongside other members of Davy Jones' crew in a UV-protected case to prevent the sand green from fading.

Modification Potential

His head and torso are popular for creating custom swamp monsters, sea hags, or Lovecraftian cultist minifigures.

Overall Assessment

An excellent example of movie-accurate LEGO design from the 2010s. A must-have for PotC fans, though the accessories in the photo are not purely accurate to the original set.
