Year Released

2016 (September release). This was part of a major expansion in the CMF line and marked an era of high-detail printing and unique dual-molded pieces.

Rarity

Uncommon. As a blind-bag figure, it was mass-produced but is now retired. It is harder to find in mint condition due to the fragile metallic silver printing.

Head

Yellow skin with a snarl/scowling expression. The left side is covered by a Pearl Dark Gray and Silver cybernetic implant with a glowing red robotic eye. It uses the 'Mohawk' hair mold in black.

Torso

Black torso with highly detailed printing. One side features a silver armor plate with red exposed wiring and a white 'tubing' cable. The right arm is Pearl Dark Gray (robotic) and the left arm is Black with a yellow hand.

Legs

Flat Silver (Metallic) legs with a Light Bluish Gray hip piece. Note that the figure in the image appears to have substituted plain light gray legs, as the original should have metallic silver legs with detailed printing on the right leg.

Accessories

Usually includes a black stud-shooter or 'blaster arm' accessory. The figure in the image is missing its original accessories.

Color Scheme

A technological palette of Black, Flat Silver, Pearl Dark Gray, and Yellow, accented by vibrant Red wiring.

Printing Details

High quality for 2016. Features 'wraparound' feel with metallic ink. The torso print is crisp with three distinct colors overlapping (silver, red, white).

Variants

This is the 'Blue-Collar' generic Cyborg character. Not to be confused with the DC Comics character 'Cyborg' (Victor Stone), who has several distinct LEGO variants (sh015, sh380).

Condition Notes

The metallic silver printing on the face and torso is prone to scratching. The pearl gray arm often shows 'swirl' marks from the molding process. In the provided photo, the legs are incorrect/swapped.

Estimated Value

Used (Complete): $4.00 - $6.00. New/Sealed in bag: $8.00 - $12.00. The incomplete figure shown (wrong legs/no gear) is worth ~$2.00.

Price (New)

$3.99 USD (original blind bag retail price).

Compatible Sets

71013 LEGO Minifigures - Series 16.

Character Background

An original LEGO character created for the CMF line. He is portrayed as a high-tech half-man, half-machine who likely lost parts of himself in a sci-fi accident or upgrade process.

Design Notes

The headpiece is a standout, combining a regular face with a tech-heavy overlay. It is a 'purist' sci-fi design that fits well in Space or Cyberpunk MOCs.

Similar Minifigures

Series 9 Alien Avenger (col131), Series 17 Retro Spaceman (col295), and the various DC Comics Cyborg (sh015) figures.

Collectibility

Moderate. It is a popular 'army builder' for sci-fi dioramas but has not seen the massive price spikes of other characters like the Banana Suit Guy from the same series.

History

Part of the transition period where LEGO began using more specialized metallic inks and dual-colored molding for CMF figures to distinguish them from standard set figures.

Interesting Facts

Despite the 'Cyborg' moniker, his torso printing looks remarkably like an early 90s internal computer schematic, an homage to 'vintage' futuristic tropes.

Display Suggestions

Looks best in a laboratory or spaceship setting. Pair with other Series 16 figures like the Spy or the Robot for a tech-themed shelf.

Modification Potential

Extremely high. The head and silver arm are favorites for custom builders creating characters like Cable (X-Men) or Terminator-style figures.

Overall Assessment

A solid, well-designed figure that suffers from 'part-swapping' in the second-hand market. While the torso and head here are genuine, the incorrect legs significantly lower its value.
