Two-Face, Grey Suit

Figure ID

bat004

Theme

Batman

Year Released

2006 (Set 7781, The Batmobile: Two-Face's Escape)

Rarity

Rare; this figure was exclusive to a single set and belongs to the highly sought-after original LEGO Batman line which ran for a very short period before the theme was retired and later rebooted.

Head

Light flesh tone with dual-face aesthetic: right side (Harvey Dent) features a stern expression with a single eyebrow; left side (Two-Face) is purple with a white bulging eye, gritted teeth, and scarring detail.

Torso

Split design: Right half is white with a black lapel and tie; left half is black. Features back printing that continues the split suit design. Arms and hands are color-matched: white arm/light flesh hand on the right, black arm/dark bluish grey hand on the left.

Legs

Standard legs with a vertical split down the middle: right leg is white, left leg is black. The hip piece is also split to match.

Accessories

Typically came with two revolvers (flat silver) and a briefcase containing a printed 1x2 '100 dollar bill' tile and a round 1x1 silver tile representing his coin.

Color Scheme

A sharp contrast of White and Black, accented with a Purple face scar and Dark Bluish Grey hand/detailing. This mimics the character's classic comic book appearance.

Printing Details

Pad-printed. The line down the center of the torso and head is iconic for its precision. High contrast between the white and black plastic makes the printing of the lapels and shirt collar particularly sharp.

Variants

This is the original (2006) version. Later variants include the orange-suit version (sh021) from 2012 and the 'The LEGO Batman Movie' version (sh311) which featured a more exaggerated red/white suit.

Condition Notes

The white plastic is highly susceptible to yellowing from UV light. The sharp line where the black print meets the white plastic on the torso can show micro-chips or wear. Friction on the hip joint may cause the split-color legs to loosen.

Estimated Value

New/Mint: $150 - $200 USD. Used (Excellent): $80 - $120 USD. Parting out the head alone can cost $40 - $50 USD due to collector demand.

Price (New)

Originally available in Set 7781, which retailed for $29.99 USD in 2006. The set-to-minifigure value has appreciated significantly over nearly two decades.

Character Background

Harvey Dent, former District Attorney of Gotham City, turned criminal mastermind Two-Face after being scarred by acid. This figure represents his duality, making decisions based on the flip of a scarred silver dollar.

Design Notes

Features a unique hair piece mold (part 54228) that is split down the middle—half black and smooth, half white and windswept/jagged. This part is legendary among collectors for its specific aesthetic.

Similar Minifigures

Batman (bat001), The Joker (bat005), and later Two-Face versions (sh021, sh311). Also comparable in value to other 2006 'OG' Batman figures like the Riddler (bat006).

Collectibility

Extremely high. As part of the first-ever LEGO Batman wave, it holds significant 'nostalgia' value and is a cornerstone for any DC Comics or Batman collection.

History

Launched in the summer of 2006 as LEGO's first foray into the Batman IP. This specific design remained the gold standard for the character for six years until the DC Super Heroes line began in 2012.

Interesting Facts

The split-color hair piece is often one of the most expensive individual hair pieces on the secondary market. This figure appeared in the original 'LEGO Batman: The Videogame' (2008) in this exact outfit.

Display Suggestions

Display in a UV-protected case to prevent the white plastic from yellowing. Looks best when flanked by 'henchmen' or across from the original 2006 Batmobile.

Modification Potential

The split head and hair pieces are frequently used in custom 'MOC' builds for other dual-faced characters or chaotic-neutral archetypes. Most collectors avoid modding this due to its high value.

Overall Assessment

A 10/10 masterpiece for collectors. Its unique mold, striking high-contrast color scheme, and status as a 'First Appearance' LEGO figure make it a top-tier investment and display piece.
