Pythor P. Chumsworth - Pearl Gold Dagger

Figure ID

njo041

Theme

Ninjago

Year Released

2012 (Debuted in set 9449 Ultra Sonic Raider)

Rarity

Rare; this is the original version of Pythor, released only in a single set during the first year of the Ninjago series, making him highly sought after as the main antagonist of the first season.

Head

Unique molded white snake head with an elongated neck. Features purple tribal scale printing, red eyes, and a blue/teal orb on the forehead. The open mouth reveals white fangs.

Torso

White torso with purple and black serpent robe printing. Features dark purple arms and purple hands. The print includes a gold belt buckle design and traditional Japanese-inspired aesthetics.

Legs

Black snake tail (slither piece) with gold and red decorative printing. The print features Ninjago-style runes and lightning/tribal patterns. This piece acts as a base rather than traditional legs.

Accessories

Includes a Pearl Gold Serrated Dagger (Blade with Toothed Edge). Some versions include a Fangpyre or Anacondrai staff, but the dagger is the primary weapon shown in the image.

Color Scheme

White, Purple, and Black, accented with Pearl Gold and hints of Red. This scheme represents the Anacondrai tribe, the most feared of the Serpentine.

Printing Details

High-quality pad printing on the molded head, front of the torso, and the front of the curved tail piece. The alignment is complex due to the curved surfaces of the snake mold.

Variants

njo041 (Original White, 2012), njo115 (Purple version from 2014 Rebooted), njo515 (Legacy redesigned version), and njo719 (Crystalized version). This is the original 2012 white variant.

Condition Notes

The elongated neck is a common stress point; check for hairline cracks at the base. The purple printing on the white plastic can rub off easily. The golden dagger is prone to 'bite marks' or tooth wear if played with.

Estimated Value

New: $50 - $70 | Used: $35 - $50. Prices vary significantly based on the condition of the neck mold and the clarity of the head printing.

Price (New)

Originally available in Set 9449 for $79.99 USD, which contained 622 pieces and 6 minifigures.

Compatible Sets

9449 Ultra Sonic Raider (2012).

Character Background

Pythor P. Chumsworth is the last surviving member of the Anacondrai tribe and the primary antagonist of Ninjago Season 1. He united the five Serpentine tribes to release the Great Devourer.

Design Notes

This figure features a specialized 'snake tail' mold introduced for the Serpentine theme. The head mold is exclusive to Pythor and is significantly taller than a standard minifigure, making him stand out in a display.

Similar Minifigures

Skales (njo036), Acidicus (njo067), Fangtom (njo049), and Skalidor (njo066).

Collectibility

High. As the primary villain from the first season of one of LEGO's most successful long-term themes, this specific version remains a 'holy grail' for many Ninjago collectors.

History

Pythor was the first 'Tall' minifigure of the Ninjago line, utilizing a unique neck extension. This 2012 release paved the way for more complex villain molds in later years.

Interesting Facts

The runes on his tail roughly translate to stylised Ninjago symbols. Pythor is the only Serpentine leader who is not a 'General' of a tribe by birth, but through cunning and the consumption of other leaders (off-screen lore).

Display Suggestions

Display alongside the other 4 Serpentine Generals on a custom rocky outcrop or within the 9449 Ultra Sonic Raider set. Use a UV-protective case to prevent the white plastic from yellowing.

Modification Potential

The head and tail are frequently used in 'MOCs' for Naga or other serpent-like creatures. The white head is a popular base for custom painted Anacondrai warriors.

Overall Assessment

A top-tier collectible for Ninjago fans. Its unique silhouette, high-contrast printing, and status as a classic villain make it a must-have for the theme. Quality is excellent, though the neck requires careful handling.
