bio002 · Bionicle
Mistika · 2008

Figure ID
bio002
Theme
Bionicle
Year Released
2008
Rarity
Uncommon; exclusive to a single high-priced vehicle set from the later years of Bionicle System-scale phase.
Head
Standard yellow minifigure head with a slight smirk and light brown stubble/beard print. This head is common and not exclusive to this character.
Torso
Reddish brown torso featuring detailed armor printing: silver chains, a small pumpkin/mask emblem on the right chest, and fur-line detailing at the bottom. Includes black arms and yellow hands.
Legs
The legs are missing from the image. The official figure features dark dark grey (light black) legs with no printing.
Accessories
The original figure includes a black life jacket (part 42446) and a large jetpack/wing assembly built from Bionicle blade parts. It is also typically paired with a black spear.
Color Scheme
Reddish brown, black, and silver/grey accents with yellow skin tones. The color palette reflects the Makuta aesthetic of the Phantom Mistika wave.
Printing Details
Highly detailed torso printing with fine chain links and texture. The 'pumpkin' badge is a specific callback to the character's larger Bionicle mask design. No back printing was standard for this era.
Variants
This is the only minifigure-scale version of Antroz. He also exists as a large-scale Bionicle 'Titan' figure released the same year.
Condition Notes
The torso printing is prone to 'torso cracking' at the sides under the arms. The stubble on the head often wears down from excessive play. The image shows the torso is in fair condition but missing the lower half.
Estimated Value
$5 - $8 USD for the complete figure. In the current incomplete state (torso and head only), the value is approximately $1.50 - $2.50 USD.
Price (New)
Released in set 8943 'Axalara T9' which retailed for $79.99 USD in 2008.
Compatible Sets
8943 Axalara T9
Character Background
Antroz is a member of the Brotherhood of Makuta. In the 2008 storyline, he serves as a primary antagonist to the Toa Nuva, piloting the Axalara T9 vehicle in the Karda Nui skies.
Design Notes
A rare example of a Bionicle character translated into a standard System minifigure. The design successfully incorporates the 'organic/mechanical' hybrid look of the Mask of Shadows.
Similar Minifigures
Mazeka (bio001), Mutran (bio003), Vultraz (bio004), and other 2008 Bionicle minifigures.
Collectibility
Moderate. Highly sought after by Bionicle completionists who want the 'System' scale versions of their favorite characters, but less popular than classic Star Wars or Castle figures.
History
Part of a brief period (2005-2008) where LEGO attempted to combine specialized Bionicle storylines with traditional System-brick playsets.
Interesting Facts
The pumpkin-like emblem on the torso print is actually a stylized version of the Kanohi Jutlin, the Mask of Corruption worn by the large-scale Antroz figure.
Display Suggestions
Best displayed inside the 8943 Axalara T9 cockpit or on a custom 'Mistika' themed display stand showcasing the pilot villains.
Modification Potential
Excellent for medieval or post-apocalyptic MOCs due to the chain and fur printing on the torso, which doesn't scream 'Bionicle' to the casual observer.
Overall Assessment
A unique piece of Bionicle history. While this specific unit is incomplete (missing legs and gear), the torso remains a high-quality print from an experimental era of LEGO cross-over design.
