Character Background

Garindan ezz Zavor is a Kubaz spy who worked for the Empire in Mos Eisley. He famously led Imperial Stormtroopers to Docking Bay 94 to find Luke Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi.

Design Notes

Features a brand-new, highly accurate head mold specifically for the Kubaz species, replacing the need for a printed face and representing a high point in Star Wars alien design.

Similar Minifigures

Ponda Baba (sw1158), Dr. Evazan (sw1159), and Momaw Nadon (sw1154) which appear in the same set.

Collectibility

High; as a named character from the original 1977 film that took over 20 years to be produced in LEGO form, he is a priority for completionists.

History

Debuted in 2020 as part of the most comprehensive LEGO Cantina set ever made, marking the first time this fan-favorite background character was realized officially.

Interesting Facts

Despite being a prominent character in Star Wars lore for his role in the escape from Tatooine, it took LEGO 21 years of the Star Wars license to create him.

Display Suggestions

Best displayed in a Mos Eisley vignette or inside the 75290 Cantina next to the entrance or a communication droid.

Modification Potential

The head piece is excellent for custom Kubaz characters or MOCs involving underworld/spy themes in the Star Wars universe.

Overall Assessment

An excellent, highly accurate minifigure that successfully captures a unique alien silhouette. It is the standout exclusive character of its parent set.
