Year Released
2011 (January). This figure was part of the third wave of the blind-bag series, which solidified the Collectible Minifigures line as a permanent staple in the LEGO catalog.
Rarity
Uncommon. While mass-produced in the millions, as a retired 2011 Series 3 figure, it is harder to find in mint condition than modern series. It was only available in single blind bags.
Head
Yellow head with centered smirking expression, black eyes with white pupils, and thin eyebrows. The hair is a Dark Orange short-cropped mold (part 92257) with side-swept fringe, which debuted in this series.
Torso
White torso with a light blue V-neck polo collar and dark blue/black trim detailing for athletic contouring. The printing depicts a classic tennis sleeveless top. The back features simple continuation of the seams.
Legs
Standard white legs with detailed printing on the front. It features a pleated white tennis skirt design and yellow printing at the mid-leg to represent the character's skin tone above white socks and shoes.
Accessories
Missing in image. Usually includes a white tennis racket (part 92723) and a transparent 1x1 round plate as a tennis ball. It also came with a black 4x3 display stand.
Color Scheme
Primary white and yellow (skin tone) with dark orange hair and light blue accents on the collar. This is a very clean, traditional athletic color palette.
Printing Details
High-quality pad printing. Notable for the 'skirt' illusion on the legs which was relatively advanced for 2011. The yellow print on the legs is meant to match the yellow plastic of the head and arms perfectly.
Variants
No official design variants of this specific figure exist, though the hair piece and torso have been reused in LEGO City sets for various civilian characters.
Condition Notes
The white plastic is prone to yellowing if exposed to UV. The hair piece can show paint rubbing on the tips. White legs are notorious for showing dirt or 'play wear' scratches easily.
Estimated Value
Current market value for a complete used figure is approximately $5.00 - $8.00 USD. New/sealed in pack can reach $12.00 - $15.00 USD. The figure in the photo (missing accessories) is worth approx $3.00.
Price (New)
Originally sold for $2.99 USD in 2011 as part of individual blind bags (set 8803).
Compatible Sets
Specifically from 8803-7 (Series 3 Minifigures). Not included in any other standard retail playsets.
Character Background
A generic professional athlete character designed to represent the sport of tennis. She is often paired with the 'Tennis Ace' from Series 7 for a mixed-doubles display.
Design Notes
This figure is a 'purist' design using standard LEGO geometry to imply specialized clothing (the skirt) through 2D printing rather than a fabric or molded skirt element.
Similar Minifigures
Tennis Ace (Series 7), Tennis Player (Series 24), and various sports-themed figures from the LEGO Sports line or City sets.
Collectibility
Moderate. It is a 'set-filler' for those aiming to complete a full CMF collection. It is not as highly sought after as the Elf or Fisherman from the same series, but holds value well.
History
Part of the early era of CMF where LEGO experimented with more niche occupations and sports. It helped establish the 'uniform' style for athletic minifigures that persists today.
Interesting Facts
The dark orange hairpiece (92257) was brand new for this figure in 2011 and has since become a very popular piece for female minifigure hair in many different colors.
Display Suggestions
Best displayed on her original Series 3 black stand. Looks great in a LEGO City park scene or a custom-built tennis court MOC.
Modification Potential
The head and hair are excellent for building custom civilian female characters. The white skirt legs are frequently used by customizers for school uniforms or other athletic outfits.
Overall Assessment
The Series 3 Tennis Player is a classic, clean example of early 2010s LEGO design. While simple by today's standards, its crisp printing and iconic hair make it a solid B-tier collectible.
