Character Background
Pythor is the primary antagonist of Ninjago's first season, the sole survivor of the Anacondrai tribe, and the General who united the five Serpentine tribes.
Design Notes
First introduction of the elongated snake neck mold and the slithering tail base, which replaced traditional minifigure legs to represent Serpentine royalty.
Similar Minifigures
Skales (njo040), Acidicus (njo067), Skalidor (njo068), and Fangtom (njo048).
Collectibility
Extremely high. He is a fan-favorite villain, and the 2012 original version is considered the 'definitive' look by many collectors.
History
Launched during the peak of Ninjago's initial popularity; Pythor’s design marked a shift toward more complex, non-humanoid molding in the theme.
Interesting Facts
The red script on his tail translates approximately to symbols of his tribe; his character was originally voiced by Ian James Corlett.
Display Suggestions
Best displayed on a dark baseplate to make the white/purple mold 'pop.' Ideally placed alongside the 4 other Serpentine Generals.
Modification Potential
Commonly used in MOCs for custom Anacondrai warriors or fantasy naga-style creatures.
Overall Assessment
A top-tier Ninjago collectible. Its value has steadily appreciated since 2012 due to the character's legacy in the show and the unique mold.
