Boromir is the eldest son of Denethor II of Gondor and a member of the Fellowship of the Ring. He appears specifically in his Moria/Fellowship attire here.
Design Notes
The design is highly accurate to Sean Bean's portrayal in the Peter Jackson film trilogy, specifically his ornate Gondorian surcoat.
Similar Minifigures
Aragorn (lor007/lor017/lor066), Faramir (customs often use Boromir's torso), Gondorian Soldier (lor012).
Collectibility
Extremely high. Being a member of the nine Fellowship members, he is essential for any Lord of the Rings collector.
History
Part of the first wave of LEGO LOTR; Boromir was a standout figure for the detail on his shield and torso filigree.
Interesting Facts
The shield provided with this figure was one of the first times LEGO used a circular printed shield with such high-definition heraldry.
Display Suggestions
Best displayed with the other 8 members of the Fellowship. Protective UV-safe cases are recommended to prevent the cape from fading.
Modification Potential
The torso is often used by MOC builders to create or enhance other noble Gondorian characters like Faramir or Denethor.
Overall Assessment
A masterpiece of the licensed 2012 era. A 10/10 for accuracy and a must-buy for Tolkien fans despite the high aftermarket price.
