Princess Leia (Slave Outfit)

Figure ID

sw0485

Theme

Star Wars

Year Released

2013

Rarity

Very Rare. This specific version was only available in one specialized play set (75005) and has become highly sought after due to LEGO's shift away from producing 'Slave' Leia merchandise.

Head

Double-sided Light Nougat head with determined expression on one side and a sleeping/unconscious expression on the other. Black hairpiece with long braided ponytail and a small top bun.

Torso

Light Nougat torso featuring the iconic golden metallic bikini top with dark brown outlines and a printed belly button. Back printing includes the thin straps of the bikini top.

Legs

Light Nougat legs with Dark Red hips and waist. The legs feature a dark red fabric loincloth print which is unique to this version's design compared to the 2003 original.

Accessories

Typically includes a pearl dark gray neck bracket (collar) and a pearl dark gray chain (part 92338) used as a leash by Jabba. Some sets included a staff weapon.

Color Scheme

Primary Light Nougat (skin tone), Metallic Gold (bikini), and Dark Red (skirt). Accent colors in Pearl Dark Gray for the slave collar.

Printing Details

High-quality pad printing with high metallic sheen on the gold sections. Features torso front/back, dual-face head, and specialized loincloth printing on the hip and leg segments.

Variants

Known versions include the 2003 yellow-skin version (sw0076) and an updated 2013 version (sw0485a) which features a slightly different face/hair mold. sw0485 is the definitive modern collector's version.

Condition Notes

Watch for 'arm cracks' on the Light Nougat torso, which are common for this pigment. Metallic gold print can rub off with heavy play. Ensure the hairpiece is the correct long-braid version.

Estimated Value

$100 - $140 (Used Complete); $180+ (New in sealed set context). Individual hair and torso pieces are worth $40-$60 each.

Price (New)

Released in set 75005 (Rancor Pit) for $59.99 USD in 2013. The minifigure now exceeds the value of the original entire set.

Compatible Sets

75005 Rancor Pit (2013)

Character Background

Depicts Princess Leia Organa while held captive by Jabba the Hutt in Return of the Jedi. She eventually uses her chains to kill Jabba during the battle at the Great Pit of Carkoon.

Design Notes

A massive improvement over the 2003 version, utilizing realistic skin tones and much more intricate gold filigree printing on the torso. The mold for the hair is specific to the character's Tatooine appearance.

Similar Minifigures

sw0076 (2003 Original Slave Leia), sw0485a (Updated 2013 variant), sw0235 (Princess Leia - Endor outfit).

Collectibility

Extremely high. This figure is frequently cited as a 'retired' style that LEGO is unlikely to reproduce in the same way, making it a cornerstone for Star Wars collectors.

History

First debuted in 2003 (yellow), 2006 (light nougat first version), and then this definitive version in 2013. It remains one of the most recognizable and controversial LEGO Star Wars figures.

Interesting Facts

Due to modern company policies regarding the depiction of 'Slave' characters, this figure has effectively been soft-banned from new production waves, causing its price to skyrocket.

Display Suggestions

Best displayed inside a Rancor Pit MOC or alongside the 75020 Jabba's Sail Barge. Use a UV-protected case to prevent the Light Nougat plastic from yellowing.

Modification Potential

The head and hair are frequently used for custom 'Boushh' Leia figures or other Endor-era MOCs. The gold printing makes it popular for custom mythological figure designs.

Overall Assessment

A Must-Have for serious Star Wars collectors. The quality of the metallic printing and the historical significance of the character design make it one of the top 50 most iconic Star Wars minifigures.
