Figure ID

Theme
Ninjago
Year Released
2019 - Released as part of the Summer wave alongside the Season 11 TV series.
Rarity
Uncommon. While widely available in mid-range sets in 2019, it is now discontinued. The specialized dual-molded head makes it more desirable than standard grunt figures.
Head
Unique dual-molded large snake head (cobra style) in pearl copper and trans-yellow. No standard minifigure head underneath; the neck connects directly to the molded piece.
Torso
Tan torso with mummy-style bandage printing and lava/flame details. Pearl copper arms with reddish brown hands. Detailed back printing featuring continuation of bandages.
Legs
Tan legs with printed bandages and lava/ember patterns. No side or back leg printing.
Accessories
Typically armed with a pearl copper scimitar or a large flame-tipped spear (not shown in image). The large shoulder armor is integrated into the head mold.
Color Scheme
Primary colors are Tan and Pearl Copper, with Flame Yellow and Reddish Brown accents. Features trans-yellow elements in the head mold to simulate a fire/energy effect.
Printing Details
High-quality pad printing on torso and legs. The alignment of the bandages is designed to flow from the torso down to the legs. The 'glow' of the lava is achieved through orange and yellow layering.
Variants
Standard Pyro Destroyer (njo542), Pyro Slayer (shorter, no shoulder armor), and Char (character specific with unique printing).
Condition Notes
Common wear points include the rubbery tips of the snake head. The trans-yellow plastic can become cloudy if exposed to moisture/oils. Pearl copper plastic is prone to visible scratches.
Estimated Value
New: $6.00-$8.00 USD | Used: $3.00-$5.00 USD. Prices are stable but rising slowly due to Ninjago collectors completing army builds.
Price (New)
Available in sets ranging from $19.99 (70672 Coles Dirt Bike) to $159.99 (70677 Land Bounty).
Compatible Sets
70672 Cole's Dirt Bike, 70674 Fire Fang, 70677 Land Bounty, 40342 Ninjago 2019 Minifigure Set.
Character Background
Members of the Serpentine tribe 'Pyro Vipers' serving Aspheera. They are ancient warriors reanimated by the power of the Forbidden Spinjitzu scrolls.
Design Notes
Features a complex dual-molded head/shoulder piece (Part 51268) which was a significant design leap for Serpentine figures compared to the Rise of the Snakes (2012) era.
Similar Minifigures
Pyro Slayer (njo521), Pyro Whipper (njo532), Aspheera (njo541), and General Kozu (njo073) for other ancient-themed Ninjago villains.
Collectibility
Medium. Highly collectible for 'army builders' who want many identical soldiers for dioramas. Essential for Ninjago antagonist completionists.
History
Represents the third major iteration of Serpentine in Ninjago history, moving from the classic 2012 biological snakes to the magical fire-undead versions of 2019.
Interesting Facts
Despite having a large, heavy head piece, the figure is surprisingly well-balanced. It is one of the few Serpentine figures that does not use a snake-tail 'slither' lower body piece.
Display Suggestions
Display in groups on a desert-themed baseplate. Looks best under warm LED lighting to catch the translucency of the fire-plastic in the head.
Modification Potential
The head piece is a popular part for MOC (My Own Creation) builders making custom fantasy monsters or Egyptian-themed statues.
Overall Assessment
A visually striking antagonist with excellent molding. It is a solid example of LEGO's technical ability with dual-colored plastics, providing great value for its current secondary market price.
