Talon Assassin

Figure ID

Theme

Super Heroes

Year Released

2018 (Released in Set 76110 'Batman: The Attack of the Talons')

Rarity

Uncommon / Retired. Exclusive to a single mid-range set, though often found in multiples within that set (it contained two of this figure).

Head

Black head with the mask integrated via printing. Features golden owl-like eye goggles and silver/white detailed line work for the mask structure. Dual-sided printing is not present on this specific head mold/print combo.

Torso

Black torso with detailed front and back printing. The front features silver V-shaped armor plating, a diagonal strap with three silver throwing knives, and a golden owl-emblem medallion on the chest. The back continues the strap and armor detailing.

Legs

Plain black legs (standard minifigure size). No printing on the hips or legs, which is a common simplification for 'army builder' style figures.

Accessories

The figures in the image are shown with Pearl Gold Wolverine-style claws (part 10187) and Pearl Gold Katanas (part 21459). In the original set, each Talon came with an array of blades from a weapon pack.

Color Scheme

Primarily Black with Metallic Silver (armor) and Pearl Gold (owl insignia and weapons). A 'stealth' aesthetic consistent with the Court of Owls lore.

Printing Details

High-quality pad printing on the head and torso. The silver highlights have a slight metallic sheen. Note the precision of the owl medallion; alignment is usually very consistent for this era.

Variants

There are no official LEGO variants of the Talon Assassin; however, since the set came with two identical figures, they are often swapped with various different gold bladed weapons from the provided accessories pack.

Condition Notes

The gold weapons are made of a slightly softer plastic and can show bite marks or stress whitening. The black torso and head are prone to visible scratches ('play wear') more than lighter colors.

Estimated Value

Used: $5.00 - $8.00 USD | New: $9.00 - $12.00 USD. Prices are relatively stable due to the figures being used for army building.

Price (New)

Set 76110 originally retailed for $24.99 USD, which included Batman, Ace the Bat-Hound, and two of these Talon Assassins.

Compatible Sets

76110 Batman: The Attack of the Talons (2108).

Character Background

The Talon Assassins are the elite, near-immortal enforcers of the Court of Owls, a secret society that has ruled Gotham City from the shadows for centuries. They were introduced in the 'New 52' DC Comics run by Scott Snyder.

Design Notes

This figure successfully translates the comic book 'Night of the Owls' aesthetic into LEGO form. The decision to use the Wolverine claw mold in gold was a clever part-reusage to simulate their finger-mounted blades.

Similar Minifigures

Batman (sh532), Nightwing (sh478), and various Black Panther (Marvel) figures due to the black suit/claw combination.

Collectibility

Moderate. Highly desirable for fans of the Scott Snyder Batman run. As 'army builders,' collectors often seek to own 5-10 of them to create a full 'Court of Owls' display.

History

This marked the first and only time the Court of Owls has been represented in LEGO. It coincided with the 2018 wave of DC sets that moved toward more comic-accurate, darker-toned designs.

Interesting Facts

The owl emblem on the torso's left chest is a direct reference to the Court of Owls' seal. These figures represent 'William Cobb' or other unnamed Talons from the frozen Lazarus-pit tomb.

Display Suggestions

Best displayed in a group of two or more, flanking a custom 'Owl' throne or surrounding a standard LEGO Batman to recreate the ambush from the comics.

Modification Potential

Excellent for custom ninjas or assassins. The head and torso are generic enough to be used for black-ops style characters in 'City' or 'Ninjago' MOCs.

Overall Assessment

A solid, detailed representation of a modern comic book villain. While the lack of leg printing is a minor drawback, the torso and head detail make it a standout 'henchman' figure for любого DC collector.
