Princess Leia (Slave Outfit)

Figure ID

sw0485

Theme

Star Wars

Year Released

2013

Rarity

Rare; this figure was only available in one set (75005) and has significantly increased in rarity due to Disney's reported shift away from 'Slave Leia' merchandise licensing.

Head

Light flesh, female face with eyelashes and dark red lipstick, neutral expression. Hair is a dark brown elaborate braided bun piece (Part 11603).

Torso

Light flesh, printed with gold bikini top with dark green and black outlines. Back features continuing strap detail. Light flesh arms and hands.

Legs

Light flesh, printed with gold bikini bottom plate and a dark red (maroon) fabric loincloth. Printing does not extend to the sides or back.

Accessories

Usually comes with a silver metallic chain/neck bracket (Part 92690) to represent Jabba's restraint. Some sets also included a staff.

Color Scheme

Primary Light Flesh with Gold and Dark Red (Maroon) accents. The gold is slightly metallic/lustrous.

Printing Details

High quality pad printing on torso and hips. The alignment of the gold belt and the loincloth between the hips and legs is a common quality check point for value.

Variants

There is an earlier yellow-skin version (sw0085, 2003) and a 2006 flesh version (sw0176) with different eye printing and a simpler hair piece. sw0485 is the most detailed and 'modern' version.

Condition Notes

Watch for 'arm cracks' (vertical cracks in the torso side). The silver neck chain can cause scratching on the torso neck area. Check for fading on the dark red loincloth print.

Estimated Value

New/Mint: $150 - $200; Used Complete: $100 - $140; Torso alone: $40 - $60. Prices fluctuate based on 'Slave Leia' controversy premiums.

Price (New)

Originally available in set 75005 Rancor Pit which retailed for $59.99 USD in 2013.

Compatible Sets

75005 Rancor Pit (2013). This is the only official set for this specific ID.

Character Background

Depicts Princess Leia Organa in her captive outfit (Hutt Slayer) while being held by Jabba the Hutt in Return of the Jedi.

Design Notes

First version to use the specialized braided bun hair piece and more accurate gold/green film-matching colors compared to the 2006 version.

Similar Minifigures

sw0085 (Yellow classic), sw0176 (2006 light flesh), sw0761 (Death Star version Leia), sw0376 (Princess Leia - Hoth).

Collectibility

Extremely high. It is one of the most 'investable' Star Wars figures because of the cultural significance and the unlikelihood of LEGO re-releasing this specific outfit in the future.

History

Follows the 2012 Jabba's Palace set release; this figure was released a year later to complement the Rancor Pit set which connected to the palace.

Interesting Facts

Rumors circulated in 2015 that Disney would no longer allow toys of this outfit, causing the price of sw0485 to triple overnight on marketplaces like BrickLink.

Display Suggestions

Display alongside the Jabba the Hutt (sw0402) and Rancor (11885pb01) figures in a UV-protected acrylic case.

Modification Potential

The hair piece is highly sought after for historical custom MOCs. The torso is often used for custom medieval/fantasy figures.

Overall Assessment

A top-tier collector's item. Rating: 10/10 for historical significance. Recommendation: Buy now if found in good condition, as supply is dwindling.
